The success of the “bricks and clicks” model in many sectors has destroyed the credibility of analysts who argued that the Internet would render traditional retailers obsolete through disintermediation. Experience has shown that consumer behavior changes only very slowly, and therefore profit can be maintained only through combination of stone branches and direct channels.

Entrepreneurial innovations of on-line business are creating new challenges for banks to sustain growth and profits.
